They specialize in assisting people to utilize a Medicaid program whilche allows inidividuals to choose a close friend or family member to assist and help out at home. Stop by to learn all about the program designed to provide Medicaid eligible residents of all ages with the personal care assistant of their choice from Pamela Pace, Thursday, April 4 from 9:30-11:30 am, or Tuesday, April 16 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.

Elderwood at Lockport
Stop in to meet community liaison Angelina Anzalone on Tuesday, April 16 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm as she shares information and attributes about living at Elderwood at Lockport.

Income Tax Preparation
To schedule your free appointment for the annual AARP Income Tax Preparation, please call. Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (February 5-April 11). Volunteers are still needed for the program. Volunteers assist area residents with the preparation and electronic filing of their income taxes. No prior experience is required. Thorough training and tools are provided. If interested, please call tax coordinator David Killion at 949-2865.

Football Potluck
Join us on Friday, February 1 at 12:00 pm for our first pre-game pot luck, leading up to Sunday’s “Big Game.” Bring your favorite game day snack and recipe to share. We will play games, football trivia, and football prediction fun. Register by January 23. FREE

Sweet Heart Luncheon
Be a sweetheart, and join us Thursday, February 14 at 11:30 am for a Valentine’s celebration featuring a delicious lunch, desserts made with love, and music. Pink or red clothing purely optional! Register by February 6. Cost:$7 (members), $15 (non-members).

 

mEATRAFFLE
Annual Meat Raffle
Save the date for our annual Meat Raffle, Saturday, March 30. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and we’ll spin the wheel for our first round of meat at 6:00 p.m. Admission includes soda and draft beer. Each round is priced individually from $1 to $10. New this year, reserve your table for 8 or more guests. This face-paced night is full of multiple chances to win a variety of meat packages – from breakfast sausages to turkeys, seafood, pork, steaks and everything in between. There’s something for everyone at The Dale Association’s Meat Raffle! Back by popular demand our very own “Liquor Loop” game. All proceeds benefit wellness programs at The Dale Association. Tickets on sale February 1.

SMILE at The Dale
Starting in January we will be introducing The Dale Association’s SMILE program; Socialization, Meaningful Stimulation, Inspiring, Lunch together, and Exercise! A new structured program designed especially for our members, SMILE will offer group setting fun for everyone. Beginning January 9 and continuing each Wednesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for cooking, crafts, guest speakers, fellowship, games, chair exercise, Eat Well, Stay Well lunch and of course – laughter, the best medicine. Sign up today as space is limited. Cost: $15 per day (members), $30 per day (non-members). Cost includes all of the above activities.

Save the Date: Basket Raffle 2019
The Dale Association is having its annual Basket Raffle on Saturday, May 4. Tickets are $25 and come with five free basket tickets and include lunch catered by Donna Eick. The doors open at 11:00 am. We will have a 50/50 raffle and many baskets to raffle. Over the past 18 years the Basket Raffle has grown to over 250 attendees. Gretchen Doty, Senior Centre Director, said “we really take pride in offering a great value for your money. We look forward to the raffle every year and appreciate the community’s continued support. We are very appreciative of the local business in Lockport who continue to support us in our fundraiser year after year.” Doty said that it is more important than ever that we meet our goal and hold a successful fundraising event. “With your continued support we have been able to meet our goals,” she said. “Your support is appreciated by everyone at The Dale Association. Hope to see you at this year’s event.”

Our friends at LCTV (Lockport Community Television) bring quality local programming to cable customers in Niagara, Northern Erie and Orleans Counties. Since 1983, The Dale Association has hosted a program where our staff members and special guests - including our dedicated business sponsors - share topics of interest to viewers of all ages.
